While I hope beyond hope that this page doesn’t in any way discourage you from emailing me directly (nothing beats a personal message from you guys!), I wanted to create a landing place for my most frequently asked questions. Curious about the blog’s name? I’ve got you covered. Wondering what camera I use? Look no further. What about the wall color in our living room? That’s here too. If you don’t see your question answered below, please feel free to email me at DreamGreenDIY@gmail.com.

What does the blog name Dream Green DIY mean?

Aside from a dedication to all things DIY and “green” (as in reduce, reuse, recycle), the name also has a very personal meaning all its own. It has to do with a girl, a dream and a loyalty to all things home. Read up on the full story behind the phrase right here.

What kind of camera do you use?

I use a Canon Digital Rebel XTi. It’s technically John’s, but I’ve sort of confiscated it from under his nose. Shhhh…Don’t tell.

May I use your project photographs on my blog?

Of course! But I do ask that you provide a photo credit and/or link back to my original post. Gotta share the love, am I right?

What is the wall color in the living room? How about the two on the stencil wall?

The teal color in the living room is by Sherwin Williams and is called “Halcyon Green,” and the two colors on the stencil wall are Olympic paint’s “Cornmeal” (the light yellow) and “Yellow Coneflower” (the dark yellow).

What is the wall color in the master bedroom?

That would be “Victorian Pewter” by Olympic paint.

What is the wall color in the studio/guest bedroom?

My favorite one in the house…It’s called “Icy Mint” by Valspar.

What thrift stores do you shop?

We have a couple of Goodwills that I go to every now and then. I also like walking through the DAV Thrift Store around the corner from our house, and Covesville antiques just outside of town. But my favorite place of all time is Estate Specialist. Alas, it closed its doors for good this year – I’m still on the hunt for a replacement.

What program do you use to design your blog? Graphics?

I use a combination of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop to keep my blog design and graphics updated. If you’re interested in my help, check out my design services page!

WordPress or Blogger?

Definitely WordPress. I did a fair amount of research on the topic (even wrote a post about it!) and am happy to give you my detailed opinion – Feel free to email me if you have specific questions.

How does your advertising work?

As far as paid linked advertising and banner ads, you won’t find those here at Dream Green DIY. I never intended for this blog to be any kind of money-making machine and have decided to not even offer that type of service. That said, I am open to product reviews – The catch is that, if you want to send me a complimentary piece from your collection, I ask that you provide a SECOND one so that my fabulous readers can get in on the deal. Read up on those details here.

Now I’m all kinds of curious about you! So here are a few frequently thought questions I’d love for you to answer: What’s your name? Where are you from? How did you hear about Dream Green DIY? What do you do for fun? And lastly, if you could have a super power what would it be? Mine would be invsibility. Or flight. Or both…
